Welcome to The Wine Data Researcher blog, I’m Alice van Ommeren.

With decades of professional experience analyzing data and leading research projects in higher education, my interests have turned towards leveraging data and research within the wine industry to make better business decisions and plan more strategically.

The Wine Data Researcher blog is a platform dedicated to wine industry professionals. Here, you’ll find insights on exploring data sources, analyzing official reports, interpreting research articles, and, most importantly, identifying strategies for utilizing data and research for business and policy decisions.

In addition to my blog, I provide services to wineries, associations, and organizations, including managing research and data projects, evaluating services, experiences, and events, researching and analyzing wine trends, and writing about wine industry data, research, and business.

I also serve on the Marketing Committee of the Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Alliance and have completed the Wine Business Management certificate from Sonoma State University, earned certification as a California Wine Appellation Specialist, and achieved Level 2 of the WSET.

I’m also a public historian, and I’ve recently turned my attention to the history of wineries.

I look forward to sharing valuable insights with you.
